TRAI changes in rules: Fake calls and messages will be banned

Keeping this issue in mind, TRAI has made changes in telecom rules, which will come into effect from next month i.e. 1 November 2024. TRAI has directed all telecom companies to implement message traceability from November 1, so that fake and spam calls can be completely stopped.
What is the new message detection rule?
Now the question arises what is message tracing? From November 1, monitoring of all incoming messages on your phone will be further enhanced. Simply put, a new system is being implemented across the country, which aims to stop all fake calls and messages on mobiles. This system will make it easy to identify fake calls and messages. You may see fake calls on your number every day, which irritates people. In such a situation, you can block them so that you can get rid of such problems.
TRAI’s previous instructions and new format
In August, TRAI had directed all telecom companies to send all messages from telemarketing, advertising, e-commerce, Finland and social organizations in a standardized format. TRAI has told telecom companies that there should be a standard format for telemarketing messages so that promotional calls and messages can be easily identified and the user knows that the messages received on his mobile are promotional.
TRAI and COAI’s requests for potential issues
COAI, which is the membership body of companies like Jio, Airtel and Vodafone-Idea, has written to TRAI. In this letter, they have sought relaxation of 2 months in the implementation of mobile traceability rules. However, some problems may arise initially after the implementation of the new rule. This may cause some delay in receiving important banking messages and OTP. People said that a strict decision should be taken immediately
