enclosure
newsindianlive.com strives to present its audience with accurate and complete news reports based on all information available at the time we are reporting the news. We endeavor to respond promptly to correct errors in content published on our website as soon as they come to our attention. We being a digital platform will carry out correction and clarification on our social media handles or share an editor’s note presenting the corrections made and detailing what the error is besides updating our content. If a major mistake is made to spread misinformation, we will issue a proper and timely apology to our readers.

Updating the report
We practice putting notes on stories if the story is updated. It’s important for us to use a correction, clarification, or editor’s note to let readers know when we’ve corrected a significant mistake or edited a story to include comments and updates from stakeholders. If any error occurs in our fact-checking (which is done in accordance with our fact-checking policy available at [“Fact-Checking Policy”]) and once it comes to our attention, we update the article accordingly and at the top of the article, we bold “[Edit: Updated Info…]” and explain the correction made. We request our community members to send corrections to editor [email protected] and at the bottom of each article, we provide readers with an option to suggest corrections.

Corrections
If we are substantially correcting an article, photo caption, caption, graphic, video or other material, we will promptly publish a correction explaining the need for said change.

Clarification
If our journalism is factually correct but the language we used to describe those facts is not clear or detailed, the language is rewritten and clarification is added to the story. Clarification is also used to note that if we initially failed to obtain a comment or response, it has been added to the story or that new reporting has changed our account of the event.

Editor’s Notes
A correction that calls into question the entire content of the article or raises a significant ethical dilemma may require an editor’s note, followed by an explanation of the problem. A senior editor approves adding an editor’s note to a story.

Other amendment policies
When an error is found by a reader and posted to the comment stream, our community engagement team can indicate in the comments that it has been fixed.

When we publish incorrect information on social media, we correct it on that platform. We will withdraw incorrect information if we cannot change it.

We do not blame individual reporters or editors (eg “due to a reporting error” or “due to an editing error”).
