IND vs NZ Test Series: New Zealand registered a series win against India: New Zealand beat India by 113 runs in the Pune Test to win the three-match series 2-0. It was New Zealand’s first Test series win in India in 12 years, having previously won in Bangalore.
Chasing a challenging target of 359 runs in the second innings, India suffered an early setback with skipper Rohit Sharma getting out for just 8 runs. However, Yasshav Jaiswal and Shubman Gill gave hope to the team. Despite their efforts, the Indian batsmen struggled to maintain the momentum and New Zealand’s Mitchell Santner put in a brilliant performance to help India bowl out for 245 runs.

Santner’s impressive figures included seven wickets in the first innings and six in the second innings, while Ajaj Patel claimed two wickets. Jaiswal top scored with 77 runs and Ravindra Jadeja scored 42 runs for India. Virat Kohli scored just 17 runs in the second innings and was dismissed LBW by Santner. His decision to reconsider was wasted as the ball touched the leg stump, a huge blow for the Indian team.
Shubman Gill added 23 runs before being dismissed and Rishabh Pant was run out. Captain Tom Latham played a solid innings of 86 runs for New Zealand. While the rest of the batting line-up struggled, Glenn Phillips’ 48 not out and Tom Blundell’s 41 provided some stability. Finally, New Zealand scored 255 runs in their second innings and recorded a memorable win against India.
